Speedvision puts me to sleep....snore! And you should be happy that you,re not subjected to the horrors of F-1 on RDS (Quebec sports network). I call it the Jacques Villeneuve network beacuse all they do during a race is drone on about JV, weither he's racing or not.

But I have to give some credit to the french networks over here; never has a race been pre-empted to show something lame like curling....or grape crushing (sorry, I just couldn't resist).

Just count your luck stars that "the voice of the Indianapolis 500" is not commentating. I am so embarressed for the US when at every USGP Tom Carnagey gets on and drones on and on and on and on and on, ect.adnausium... about the Hulman family and how JV and Whinney P Montoya are "returning champions" and mispronouncing every driver's name (or even worse mixing them up, "Ralph Montoya") and not knowing what country they are from and how this race is "...run backwards! Can you believe it!" AND asking the most gawd awfull questions about F1 AND leaving his mic open to hear his grunts and snorts. I'm sorry, but the guy NEEDS to retire. He must be 108 by now. Any Indy fans want to flame?

FlameFlameFlame on you! No, I don't mind him, but I think that's nostalgia talking. I actually met him at last year's race. As the story goes, we were in the food court behind the pitlane and the beers were going through me. As I worked through the crowd heading to the bathroom, I heard the unmistakeable voice and turned around to see TC right behind me, in his wheel chair along with two other Indy officials. I introduced myself, said what a fan I've been, blah blah blah, and he was very nice. They were looking for some lunch, and so he asked me for a suggestion. I recommended the hamburgers, but by now the lines were enormous. I assured him that people would be forgiving of him to cut to the front. The next day, during a "dead" time, he started talking about the food court, and mentioned what a great hamburger you could get there! My friends were dying laughing and wouldn't stop giving me hell about it all day.

I also remember lucking into Murray in 2000, just behind gasoline alley. Funny enough, he was by himself, and nobody else seemed to recognize him. I did a quick "hello", shook his hand, and off he went. Short and sweet.

LOL Giles27, I knew there was someone out there! I used to work with a guy who worshiped the ground TC walked on and would shame me every time I $itched about him! "You don't realize that HE is as much a part of Indy history as the drivers!" etc., etc.... I do not disagree. HOWEVER, Harry Carrey stayed around about 15 years too long and TC has been around 20 years too long! I would love to get the guy to a pub and talk all night about Indy "stuff", but keep him away from F1!
    My humble apologies!

Yeah, by the looks of things, I don't think he'll be around much longer. I'll just always associate his voice with the 500. "Aaaaaaaand he's ON IT!"
