Does Jacques Vaucher still have any connection with this deal? He has been around a long long time.>

    Auction ends today..

    Whew!

Some items (Rene Dreyfuss) have really taken off....

Sadly, a lot of GREAT original art works are No Bid......too expensive in the market, you think????

Some of the book titles are still great deals, IMO...others are higher then can be obtained elsewhere.

    *gun smoke......flying whiskey bottles*

    Man!! That was fun!!!!

I let a few things go, "Ferrari by Vignale" was at TWICE the retail value!
    "Klemantaski" was $575!!!!!

I won "Remembering Paramont Ranch" by Art Evans (the photog in my other thread about Phil Hill/Carroll Shelby Palm Springs Ferraris)

As well as the Rene Dreyfus signed and inscribed to author "My Two Lives" that $400 will send me to Taco Bell for awhile....:D :D

Tom Burnside Racing Photography (more about Tom in a future thread, I have an item of his to share with you all, you will WANT it!!!)

Lastly, a print of the Ferraris winning 1961 Lemans race, in the pits side by side at night,
SIGNED by both Phil Hill (R.I.P.) and Olivier Gendebien!! I'm excited, also expensive!!!

That 'soft close" thing had me all jacked up, the print went into that and there were no other last minute bidders.

    What did ya'll get??? :D :D :D

I hope the sale went well for Ed Niles.

All the original art (and there was some nice items) stiffed totally, from what I could see.

Well, Bubba, I thought it went very well, indeed. Who knew a set of Cavallinos would bring $4750? I'm a bit sad to see this stuff go, but at my age it just seemed better to pass it on now rather than burden my family with it later. I wonder how many F-chatters were among the successful bidders?

That's a pretty stout price. I'd better get my set insured!

Yea, and don't leave it under the dripping A/C!!!!

I don't know Mr. Niles, you can see I was trying to get some 'chatter' working on the sale, but no one would talk to me.....:D :D :D

Now I have more 'stuff' myself...

I'll probably get more 'mileage" out of the box of designer dresses though, from RP....LOL!

    Ed,
in my opinion, you are doing the right thing. I can't imagine what would happen to my books, etc., if I suddenly disappeared. I keep trying to tell my wife that these things are not insignificant.

The Estate Sale folks do short work of it, one weekend....then here in Houston, they often bulldoze the house right on over, depending on property values.

But often pennies on the dollar if not recognized as a specialty item.

I had my Will holding it all togther if my children were still less than 18 years old, but they can divide it all up, now...

Amanda just traded her 1976 308GTB in, on a Saturn Sky.
I point that out, to show it's only important, to US, not them.
