    Been sitting since 07. motor rebuild at that time, $10,000. all cars parked when the economy tanked. started today. used a mechanical oil pressure gauge. 5 lbs. at idle!. panic. need oil and filter suggestions. has Italian syn. now that was put in at rebuild. car was driven less that 100 miles after rebuild

    Is this hot or cold? Sounds like the oil pressure relief valve could be stuck. Was this measured off the gauge on the dash or an external gauge? Are you 100% sure that the pressure is as low as that and you aren't getting a squiffy gauge reading - verify this before starting to investigate the next step.
