I just got a 550 Maranello so now I need a 18th scale model. I will want to repaint it Grigio Ingrid / Sabia.

Any thought on which brand and where I can get paint?

I did some searching and it looks like UT or Maisto are well thought of.

    Any other thoughts are appreciated.

Why not just pay someone to do a 1/24 scale model? Most good builders can match the exact color and interior of your car.

I have 18th models of every sports/high performance car I have owned and I like to do things myself, that's part of the fun for me.

I am aware that I could have it done professionally, that's not what I'm asking advice for.

Wy not just buy a Hot Wheels model & then dismantle it & repaint it the why you wnat it? I've done that with a few cars & have had good luck with the outcome.

In 1/18th scale, the UT is the best model you can get for the 550 model. They are getting more scarce by the day and because of that I wouldn't paint it. The HW version would be a good choice to repaint----I think I have an extra Hot Wheels version if you want me to look...

    Isn't the HW a 575 instead of a 550?

p.s. the UT version is the one to go for. Please note that the earlier ones didn't have small details like brake callipers.
