    Hey there all,

although member since a while its time, I think, to introduce myself.

I am from Germany and a supporter of Ferrari since late 80s; as I prefer the smaller cars, I bought my 308 GTS / 1979 already in 1995 (one year BEFORE Schuey entered the Ferrari team :)).

My 308 is a California car, which was first imported in 1989 to the Netherlands and later to Germany. I loved to drive it until 2002, hen the engine was getting tired. So I decided to remove it. The plan was to restore it, but first now (means in autumn 2007) I could start up. Photos sow my car in the late 90s at the Nurburgring I live near by, and today when the car ist stored...

First step is to rebuild the engine - only with genuine Ferrari parts, which I collected meanwhile nearly complete. Only a few spares are still missing. I really hope to complete the engine department in the next months.

The second step will be to change color. After such a long time of owning I am a bit trired with the standard color... I decided to coat my car in my favourite color: fly yellow! Many of my friends discouraged from that, but before I took this I deliberated to paint the car in Kawasaki lime green :). Does anybody knows this incredible color?
Before doing color change, I like to modify the car from US to Euro spec. Also most of those spares I got. Only one manifold and the bumpers are still missing.

Nicest items I got for my project were a brandnew ANSA system out of the 70s with a flat structured corpus and orange colored inner pipes. Also I got a set of never installed 40 DCNF Weber carbs with all add on parts, as the linkage. Found that a time ago directly in Maranello in a small Fiat workshop.

I am glad to find this forum, which I like.

So I would be delighted to get some feedback; also some help, as I fear there will be some difficulties with my project.

    Saluti a tutti.

Welcome ELR-21, this is definetly the forum to go to for help. I am in the process of restoring my 308GTB at the moment and it to is going back to factory Gialo Fly.

Only 2 nights ago I needed help to find some panels. Within 24 hours I had made contact with a supplier in the UK and the parts are now being made.

Great bunch of people in the 308 section, not only very helpful, but very knowledgable.

BTW, Robert who runs the 308 register website is near Nurbrgring.

    Hi Folks,

thanks for the very kindly welcoming. Think I´m right here...

The silver color is nice without any doubt - but meanwhile after all these years I have enough of that. I know its a crime for a purist, but I feel free enough for that...

@jedi: sure, I will post pics from time to time.

@B27: seems to be allways the same araund the world :)

    Stay in contact.

If anybody needs a part which is heavy (or not) to get, you can contact me, as I have quite good working network with Italian suppliers. I was many many times down there and know a lot of ways to aks for those spares...

    Saluti a tutti
