I've never owned or even thought of a model Ferrari, but my recent purchase of a Daytona has changed that a bit. Thinking of buying a model of that car, but am bewildered by all that are available. Probably a 1/18, but what brands are most true to the cars they model? thanx s

Well Kyosho does the best job on the Daytona they offer first and secound serie versions but only coupes no convertibles. When it comes to convertible you should look vor a elite version. Can you post a picture or tell us what kind of Daytona you own.

I bought car #14599 from Fantasy Jxn in late April. Red coupe with black/black seats, gray carpets. I'm the fourth owner, tho' one guy owned it for 90% of it's life. Borranis, books, tools and a great provenance. Of course I'm just ectstatic. s

Kyosho made this model nearly the same as yours. By now it's hard to find but the patience will pay off. Only the rims are different but for a modelbuilder this won't be a problem.

Collector Studio could hook you up with one of the Custom Builders that will match your color/trim exactly...

You jumped way up in the pricing levels obviously, at that point.

I had a red/black coupe but I recently gave it away to make room for one of the snazzy race versions they have out these days.

Congrats on that buy, sounds like a SUPER car!!

I'll probably just get a cheap model, as it will just sit on my desk at work, and likely get handled by one of my patient's kids! Or, get broken by the housekeeping staff. Enclosed is a picture of the Daytona, shot at Fantasy Junction. Also enclosed a picture of my new 'Vette, just purchased in NW Florida. s

I've got one that is "in the metal" from a Hot Wheels commemorative series...pretty cool actually, it looks like clear coated aluminum or something..

Nah, I was gonna buy it, but it was an automatic. (On the 'net, no one really knows diddly about you, 'cause if you did, you'd know I was laughing like crazy!). Wild car, eh? s

    ....

so may we hope, that the same doesn't apply to the Daytona purchase :)
I have to admit, if I had bought a Daytona and FChat asks me for pictures I would have taken my camera equipment, shooting all weekend long, and present the results here with PROUD...... rather than taking a tiny pic from the dealer's website.

    Best Regards

    Martin

I'm terribly proud of my new Daytona and, honestly, I think of little else (except of course that 'Vette in north Florida!). However, I'm a very private person and was reluctant to even post that one picture. Posting a lot of pictures of another red Daytona just ain't my style, so I didn't and won't. To each his own. s

I need to work out a flat spot when I accelerate, but I do love the car and feel fortunate to own it. Thanx for your kind words. s
