Hey everybody, My name is Derek, i'm 19 and a college student right now. I decided to join Fchat for one reason and one only. I have an incredibly strong passion for cars and Ferrari in general. I love reading the forums on the site and reading other information. There is something about a Ferrari that I see in it that many others dont(i know all of you do) that is more than a car. To me, to have one would be all I really need to be happy. With that said its obviously a goal in my life, not a goal, a dream to own one of these master pieces. I've been into cars my whole life. My first car was a nissan altima which i delivered pizza in. I knew what I wanted in a car so I saved up every pay check for an entire year tips included, and bought the closest thing I can get right now to a Ferrari. A Lexus SC400. I am simply in love with the car. I value it like one cannot believe. This car gets washed so much that the paint is gonna wash off. Waxed so much that it stays dry during rain storms. Treated so well that its never going to die on me. I'm a devoted member of Club Lexus and the mileage on SC's extends way past 300k well maintained. Mine is at 165k and running incredible. My point for explaining this is that I certainly do know what it is like to value a car for what it is. Whenever I see a Ferrari i cringe, listen for that sweet sound, admire that incredibly timeless shape. I'm in college now majoring in Political Science with intent on going to law school. I have my plans set and pray that one day I will be able to post a thread here with the prefix "Current Ferrari Owner" I know you don't have to be rich to have a Ferrari. I've seen some below 40k for sale. Here are some of my all time favorite iconic Ferrari's I would give my little brother away for. (jk!) Ferrari 348 , 355, 550 Maranello, and last but not least the 360 spider. I will not buy a Ferrari with F1 gear box, my pride and joy will be on the floor, stick. I don't know about all of you guys, but something about becoming one with the machine is unlike any other feeling. I experience it in my Lexus at 19, I can't comprehend what it would be like to have the chance to drive a Ferrari. With that said, I look forward to contributing what ever it is I possibly can here on this forum. Nice to meet (virtually) all of you guys. Derek Ps: Here is a picture i took of my current pride and joy. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Welcome to Fchat Derek! Nice Lexus, good job on keep it clean and maintaining it, that's the beauty of owning a car, any car at that. Read up, lots of young people on here as well, just like you.
I can tell you, you put in a lot of effort, keep an eye on your progress, and one day things aren't quite so much of a struggle anymore. By the way, I've always thought you can tell a lot about people by the way they take care of their cars, especially when they're not megabuck exotics.
