What the heck is going wrong with the Red Wings? They had a dominant record in the regular season, and now they are down 2 games to 1 to Edmonton??? They better get their act together..........it can be over before you know it.

I am happy to see the Montreal Canadiens doing well, seeing as I was born and raised there. It would be nice to them win the cup, they are long overdue.

If I had to pick between the 2 teams winning the cup, I would probably prefer to see the Canadiens win it, since hockey is the only professional team sport that exists in Montreal. If the Wings don't go all the way, we still have the Pistons (who are just about a lock to win it), the Tigers, and the Lions (the latter 2 have a long way to go to win their respective championships, but at least the opportunity exists).

Who are you picking to win the Stanley Cup?

I am extremely tired today becuase of the Red Wing / Oiler's game last night. The loss was a little more painful due to the fact that I thought the Wings scored in the first overtime. I was very excited and then I clearly saw that it wasn't a goal. I knew right then I should try to go to bed. Legace gave up 3 bad goals but he still made some good saves. The Wings just didn't capitalize on their chances in OT. I expect the Wings to play a complete game on thursday and tie up the series.

I really think the Eastern Conference is stronger than the Western Conference. I think New Jersey finished off the regular season strong and Brodeur is playing great right now. So if I had to pick a team to win it all I would go with New Jersey. If I had to go with a team from the West I would say San Jose is dangerous with Thorton and Cheecho both playing out of their minds lately. But I am still hoping the Wings can pull it out. I always pull for the Canadian teams if the Wings lose so I wouldn't be disappointed if any canadian teams win it all. I prefer the Maple Leafs to the Canadians though. I was a little upset Toronto didn't make it to the playoffs this year.

Same old story. The wings are too old and slow to go the distance. When they lost their lead scorer for game one the story was over.

Datsyuk was back for game 2. I don't know if he played last night.

Datsyuk did play. He looked better than he did in game 2. Hopefully, he will continue to get better.

I was happy the Wings won but I still thought there were way too many penalties on both teams. I am not enjoying the playoffs as much as previous years due to all the weak penalties being called. Out of the 6 goals scored in the Wings 4-2 victory last night, 5 of them were on the power play. Detroit scored 3 power play goals and Edmonton scored 2 Power Play Goals. I hope the players are able to decide the seriers instead of the referees.

Well the Calgary Flames are choking in the first round....it's now 2-2 with the Ducks......personally I hope we lose in the first round....having a hockey team in the playoffs is bad for retail businesses....except bars of course.

That's a very good point - a very big reason why the Wings had such a successful regular season is by staying out of the penalty box. They do need to get back to that.

So totally true. I watched the third period and kept thinking to myself how could they call that? Officiating was bad both directions at least. I was glad to see Legacy have a good game last night.

The Rangers are gonna come back starting this Saturday... Renney is a good coach IMO, but it is starting to get funny watching him try to explain, time and time again, why they're losing.

Realistically though, I'd put my $.02 on the Devils (as much as it hurts me to say it).

I agree too. And not just in that series but in the whole playoffs. It is as there was a decision made to call more penalties to have higher scoring games. I don't like it. What were there 19 power plays in the Detroit game last night? Seems as the league is just focusing on scoring to generate fan support.

After that debacle that was the lockout last year the NHL needs to do something to generate interest back to the sport...outside of major market hockey cities nobody even noticed that there was no hockey season last year.

Well, having the playoffs on OLN is not going to help generate interest. I missed the opening games because I could not find the games. Come on ... OLN?

makes no sense to me either...I can always catch the Wings games on Fox Sports Detroit....but I like the commentary better on OLN (less bias towards Detroit). I love Mickey Redmond but he has a real way of kissing the Wings a$$es.

I was hoping that Edmonton would win last nights game. I want to see a Calgary - Edmonton series. Plus detroit is made up of mostly old washed up guys. I was hoping in 04 when Yzerman took the puck to the face he would just retire, that didnt happen though. Oh well, if Detroit wins the series..Calgary has played detroit last time and beat them, why not this time?
