Yea... that's right. Organic Light Emitting Diodes. Wow. Cheap (colors are determined by grown bacteria (red/blue/green) Doesn't require backlighting. Takes MUCH less energy to power.) Thin and Flexible (unlike LCD OLED's can fold because they aren't crystaline) AMAZINGLY BRILLIANT! (1,000,000:1 contrast ratio and can operate at much faster refresh rates.) Sony claims they can bring TV's to market by the end of this year. Samsung is calling them liar's and says '08-09'. Either way, I am speechless. My money's on Samsung. I like them and I think Sony will have too much of their resources tied up into Blu Ray and PS3 to make this work. http://youtube.com/watch?v=3Ufs9Wx0VXQ http://youtube.com/watch?v=H7QbQugXy1A http://youtube.com/watch?v=VoxaMAA1jjM
I hope they can combine this with that multitouch display stuff they've got... Isn't the Optimus keyboard using OLED's?
