    Dear all,

I was wondering what the original keys, that came with the 400, are looking like. I think I have non original copies.Since the picture in the manual is quite vague this also does not help a lot. I assume these keys are "of the shelve" items and will differ from period to period. Does anyone have a picture ? Construction year of my car is '79. Can you still order original like copies ? Thx. in advance for your input. David

Neiman is the original blanks, you'll find them pretty pricey.

Ilco and Taylor are alternate manufacturers of the same shape blank.....

Search here or on eBay for "Neiman keys" you'll find some....good hunting!!!

I'm not sure what model these are for, they came with a truck load of Alfa parts. The logo keys are number 8, there is no number on the ceam/torino blanks. If these are what you need, pm me.

The key on the right looks like my door key 86 - 412.
The ignition key on my car has a foldable part so you would not hurt your knee when crashing (into) it.

I think 400 keys where same and can post picture if helpful but not certain 400 and 412 ignition key is same.

The 400i ignition key has the folding feature.

I think the ceam keys might work on some older cars.

    Regards,

    Art S.

PS. Are you keeping this impressive hoard or selling it off?

Which older cars? All of those keys look like door or glove box keys at best. For a unique car only. Some value for a specific car. Other than that, not much.

    Dear all,

Thx. for the reactions. Looking deeper into ot I think keys of 400 are completely in metal and quite standard looking.

ferrari is selling them but apparently they are just bare metal and no horse ingraving and probably a zillion times more expensive than a local key seller...

So I will try to find something that matches the original at best.

Today we have finetuned carburettors after gearbox revision. Took her for a spin and all the stress of last working week was gone ... :). hope to take her to the champagne area in Reims, France one of the following weeks ...

I have to look into how to post photo's and then I will try to post some pictures if any interest.

I have no plans to keep them, if someone knows what they fit, and can use them, contact me with your idea of a fair offer. I don't want much for them. I would rather they be used than stored or worse yet, tossed in the trash. I'm clearing the shop out, and need to get a lot of stuff out of here.
