Just had to vent. I'm driving home in the truck today, and all of a sudden I hear a THUD and the windshield breaks! A quick look around and I see three preteen boys just off the road jumping up and down and giving each other high fives, as they pitch rocks at other cars on the road. Scared the bejeeezus out of them when I whipped the truck around 180 and chased them into a neighborhood, but they got over a fence and got away. Probably a good thing they're faster, because otherwise I'd probably have charges against me. I was PISSED! So now I have to get the windshield replaced and deal with the insurance company and take time off and all that mess, just because some punks aren't being parented correctly. The absolute worst thing? I was driving home from getting the truck inspected! The sticker wasn't 20 minutes old, and now I have to do it again after the windshield's replaced. AAARRRRRGGGGHHHH
Man, sorry to hear about this. I coud have been alot worse. Where did it happen & have you thought abut calling the cops to file a report? I don't know if that will do any good but you never know. Good thing it wasn't your 328.
Sorry to hear about that Tillman. I once had someone hit a golfball at my windshild and shattered it as I was driving by. I never did find out who it was but I felt about the same way you are feeling now.
I can ease your pain a little, you won't need to get the car re-inspected, the replacement guys will just transfer the sticker to the new windshield. Sorry you didn't catch the little bast__ds.
I thought about calling the cops, but all I'd be able to tell them is 3 black males wearing jeans and tshirts. There's too far many people who match that description. It would be cheaper to fix the 328, actually -- the deductible is lower on it
Throwing an object at a moving vehicle is a felony. Started back in '79 I think when some kids threw a pumpkin off a bridge into a minivan killing everyone on board. How do I know this? I got arrested for throwing a glass at a car who had thrown a hammer and beer can at mine. Broke their windshield, we ran a right hand red light and got pulled over. At the scene we were the aggresors. Anyway, I got 200 hours community service, (deferred sentence) while guys there only got 40 hours for shooting their spouse. Bad lawyer I guess!
I'm sorry to read the news. Hope you are doing better now. It may not be too late to file the incident to the police. These punks may be doing the same thing before, and more claims the police gets, they might take more time for investigation, since it is a felony. I really hope these kids will be punished and the news will prevent others to do the same. Can't understand their motive for doing things like this as it is the attempt for killing.
From what I remember you have about 72hrs to file the report. I say you make the call, don't let those little bastards get away with this, I'm sure they are still at it. It's only going to get worse unless it's stopped somehow. Make the call Tillman.
Hey Tillman.... It may be a good idea to just call the law and let them know to keep an eye out for stuff like that in that area. I mean, what if those kids hit an elderly driver or something and cause someone to get killed? Just a thought. I'm sure the cops would be greatful you called. About the sticker. It seems lately the Texas stickers are still quite sticky after taking a rasor blade and sliding it behind the sticker for a clean removal. I would try and carefully scrape it off and reuse it. I mean, you are totally legal right? Just had to swap windshields. Good Luck.

I was watching the news last night & they did say there a group of kid near Coit Rd busting out windows. Did this happen near there Tillman?
