P1437 Code

Hi Guys,

I live in California.
Every time I fuel, I had to pull the rubber back on the gas nozzle/ gun to have fuel flow into my car.
Then every time after driving for about half tank, a check engine light along with "engine control failure" pops up on the dash.
I took it to an Indy, he read the code being EVAP.

Today I got myself an Autel, and it reads P1437.

Car drives fine, but sometimes smells like something was burnt.

I have an X-pipe installed but it appears it's leaking. With dark water on the ground.
I cleared the code but am pretty sure it will come back, and will take it to the shop by then.
Let me know if you guys encounter this. I don't think it's anything major but just want to make sure.
