I'm amazed to have found out today, that Penske racing used to be located and headquartered in Newtown Square, PA. I didn't even realize this, even though I have lived around the corner my entire life. Does anyone know more information about this or have any vintage photos of Penske racing's operations? I was able to figure out online that there were two different shops one on S. Newtown Street Rd. and another on Winding Way. That's pretty much it.

Article "The Little Shop on Winding Way" in Sports Car Graphic, March 1969 - has pix of race cars under construction at the shop - also has a pic of the mailbox - address apparently was 3628 Winding Way, in case you didn't know that. I might be persuaded to send you scans of the article, if you wish to read it.

Penske is from Philly, Mark Donahue was too, the Indycar shop was there for years (and Can Am, etc). they consolidated everything in NC with the NASCAR and (at the time) Porsche RS sports car program after the shop in PA was taken out in a flood.

"The Unfair Advantage" has a few pics of the early shop(s) in it.

    Miltonian,
I would love to get a copy of that article. I remember it well (as well as Sports Car Graphic). It was the article that got me hooked on Mark Donohue. Let me know if you still have it and can scan the story. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. I've enjoyed your TV work for many years.

I have some old SCGs and will check to see if I have that issue. It could be a while, since my magazine collection is in a different location from where I live.

Rick: I still have it easily available. If I can get my ancient scanner to work, I'll send it off to your email address shortly, OK?

Rick: I know, I'm living in the Stone Age, but when I follow your link, I don't see a plain old email address to send the scans to you. Help?
