    I pulled off my carbs and had them rebuilt and think I'd like to replace the spacers they sit on. The current ones are about 1/4 inch. Does anyone run thicker ones? I assume thicker equals less heat transfer but wonder if that also means the airbox would sit too high.

    Yeah there’s a guy who makes 1/2” spacers and they’re great. Google Dashman’s hot rod shop.

    You may have a clearance issue at the forward part of your air filter housing with a 1/2 inch spacer. The underside of the hood may touch the top part of the air filter housing retainer. I used the wood spacer and a seperate gasket below and above the spacer. I also used Hylomar blue on both sides of each gasket to prevent gas / air leakage. Image Unavailable, Please Login
