This question was asked once on the old board, but I am curious as to who here enjoys playing poker(whether it be in the casino, local game, or for pennies).

I have been playing about once a week for the past year and have really had a lot of fun. Usually it is a local game amoung friends where we play NL hold em' about 90% of the time. I make it out to the casino every once in a while as well.

I just finished reading my first poker book and am thinking about ordering Wilson's poker software as well.

    Anyone else? Advice or comments?

I also enjoy playing cards. We had a monthly game that ran for years, as well as, making trips to the casino's. In the monthly games we played a wide variety of games, but at the casino's I play a lot of 7 card stud and a little hold'em. Books on poker are a good place to start learning. Also the World Series of Poker on TV is a great way to learn the betting.

Like poker but have not played for years. Be nice to have a driving and poker day. Drive hard during the day, eat, get a poker game going. maybe even RISK once in a while.

VERY EXPENSIVE, Texas Holdem even with a limit can get a little pricey. Played in a $1,000.00 buy in and lost my shirt in round 1. Tried again this time $5,000.00 buy in get to the last table and finished 5th took home $9.500.00 not bad.
    But LOVE THE GAME!

Have played low stakes games forever... usually .25 / .50 with a bunch of old friends. Sometimes after the suds flow we'll play 1.00 Guts. Black Mariah is a great 7 card stud game. It's a High Chicago (split pot) game but if the Q of Spades comes up (must be up), everyone leaves their money in the pot, re-anties and starts over. Once out, always out. Fun game.
