Power Warranty

Hi Folks,
I am in the middle of my Ferrari purchase - and one of the items that I can purchase is (Power Warranty).

The ferrari programs offers a North America Power Program which is $5750 for 1 year.

New Power:
Covers Engine, Transmission, Suspension & Steering, and Electrical systems

IS it worth doing this? If I do get this - the dealership will give it a CPO (certified pre owned) certificate as well.

Car details: 2006 F430 Spider 4k miles; All service records - Pristine Condition - BUT it is my first ferrari and I just don't want any "OH Engine Light - Needs new this" scenario ..

I didn't take it. In the end it's really up to you. Do you want to take a chance nothing is going to break?

 

I would. The car is already 8 years old, and lack of use can be just as detrimental as many miles. I'm talking from experience when I had the chance to take a warranty on my F355 years ago, then discovered the price of "straightforward" malfunctions. Even an ECU is $$$$.

I've always taken once since and have an extension now on my 430. One less thing to worry about

Take it. I also purchased it with my 430....very similar situation with under 4k on the car. Car is prestine but at least, this will give you some peace of mind.... I was also a nube to Ferrari. No issues with the car to date but what the heck...you're putting down a decent amount of money for the car so a little more for some comfort won't hurt!

If it's a solid, well inspected, sorted car. Put the money in the bank. It will go a long way towards any first year issues.

Only a few months ago has some relevance

 

Well not all instances for a check engine light are covered by the New Power warranty. It does not cover leaks and seals - It would need to be a mechanical malfunction of a component.

 

Don't forget that it doesn't cover fluid leakage so if your rear main oil seal leaks don't expect Ferrari to cover it.

F430's are bullet proof cars! 5K is a lot of money! Get a good PPI or buy from a certified F-car dealer!

Ask yourself what the odds of having covered repairs totaling more than 5750 in a year are? Engine failures are very rare in 430s. I've had my 430 for 9+ years. There wee a few things done under warranty. In the 6+ years since, repairs have been less than 1000. total and none would have been covered under the power cube anyway.

One thing you do want to check is if the exhaust manifold has been replaced with the upgraded ones. They will fail but probably not until it gets to 12-15K miles.

Agree 100%, odds are EXTREMELY low of needing a $6K repair over the course of your first year if the car has been properly taken care of...

 

I went CPO power warranty on my 430 in April. Dealer cost was $3500 and well worth the peace of mind @8500 RPM! Certificate might get you a little more when you sell it. My
Repair costs in 3000 miles $0

 

What was the actual cost that the warranty covered? Interested to see if it was more or less than what you paid for the warranty.
