I woke up this morning and mom was no where to be found but her vehicle was still in the garage so I figured she went to breakfast with friends. I called her cell and our friend Tammy answer's and tell's me my mom is in the hospital ! Apparently she was sick all night and was worried enough to call an ambulance to take her to the hospital. I was like WTF why did she not wake me up but then I realized that mom's being mom's dont want to worry their children but I'm still PO'd about it. Apparently after calling the ambulance she called Tammy to meet her at the hospital.

My mom is a non-stop person alway's doing something and it seem's it may be catching up with her. She is 67yr's old, still works fulltime and then comes home and goes back to work so to speak, she has the drive and energy of someone 20yr's her junior. What worries me the most is she has been a 2 pack a day smoker for as long as I can remember. So anyway nobody can see her right now not even me and she is being admitted for further test and observation. I have made alot of what I consider to be true friends here on the forum although we have never met so I felt compelled to share with everyone and ask for your prayer's.

Here is a pic of my mom, she is at the lower left, sitting next to Myra her youngest sister and next to Myra is Marilyn the second oldest of the eight kids, my mom is the oldest of the bunch. That is my uncle Marvin up top next to his wife Gena on his right and on his left is my grandmothers youngest sister and one of her daughters.

Will put her on the list. My dad has been a long time smoker (not sure how many packs, but he has been smoking since he was 14 and he is 69 now!) I keep hoping and praying he will stop... has not happened yet. Will keep you mom in my prayers.

    Good luck!

Thank you everyone I truelly appreciate your prayer's and good thoughts. Turns out she had what they call a 'Ischemic stroke' caused by her high blood pressure which was off the charts at 220+/150+, yikes! She was on BP medication which she did not tell me and it made her feel bad so without consulting with her doctor to adjust the medication she did it herself and then eventually stopped taking it all together. Anyway she is still in ICU but back to her old self barking order's lol and hopefully will be in a room today. The stroke does not seem to have caused any paralysis but her equalibrium is still alittle off and they did another catscan last night to re-evaluate her progress.

Once again thank you everyone and I will post updates as I get them,
    Gregg

You have my sympathy and prayers. FWIW, carcinoma of the lung does not generally present in an acute manner (e.g., feeling sick enough to call an ambulance) but in a more chronic manner (e.g., having a long-term cough, weight loss, loss of energy, etc.). Good luck.
