The Black Book CPI seems to track stuff the closest to reality from what I have seen.

The "what some is prepared to pay" Buyers guide is the best

I use the Sports Car market guide. I have found it to be pretty good , however you need to remember it is only a GUIDE meaning it does not know the exact car you are selling or buying. I use that along with more recent sales etc and pay no real attention to the crazy sale prices that you see at Some auctions. I have bought and sold many american cars such as corvettes and shelbys all tend to be very rare option packages with awards and documentation .. I sometimes price the car 10 or 15 percent above the sports car market or right around the market just depends or everything. I am not a dealer but have bought and sold a few cars . I never buy a car to sell but usually to buy a car I need to sell one. for space.. Anyway that is my thought.

Those guides are probably useful during times when prices are stable, but at the moment they are increasing. So they will tell you what prices were maybe 2 months before the guide was printed (no one can update prices daily for all those cars) but not much else.

If not interested, deduct 15K from what price was yesterday.

If interested, add 15K to what price was yesterday.

If suddenly interested after not being interested yesterday, add 30K to what previously uninterested price was.
