I just finished doing a stealth install of the passport 9500CI into the rear view mirror and had to kill the battery connection to the car. When I powered her back up I got the code enter screen...

I know this has been discussed before, searched and I wanted to know if the IDENT-KARTE is the card that has the code on it? It's a four digit code BE 7860. The problem is when I try to do this on the radio it doesn't have a the option for and 8 or 0 and I think it's looking for five digits! Is there another card that I should be looking for? I guess if all else fails I'll try and chase it down with the dealer. Thanks for any help!

Mine is a 5 digit code, labeled Becker automotive systems code card. The serial # on my card starts with BE followed by some numbers so that is probably what you are looking at.

So I guess I'm looking at the wrong card and don't seem to have the one you're referring... Do'H!!! What a pain in the ass... who actually steals these radios!

The code you mention sounds like part of the serial number. The unlock code is a 4 digit code. You can go to this site and pay $3.00 to get it: http://www.online-unlock.com/catalog/becker_car_radio/becker_car_radio_via_sn.html

You need to get the serial number of your radio and enter in then they will email you the code. I had the same problem you have now. Look around your manuals, the serial number or the 4 digit code may be inscribed somewhere.

I think the dealer may charge you a lot more than $3.00.
