Hi guys. I have been reading posts here for some time and thought it would be
a good time to contribute, ask questions etc.
I have a 1997 yellow spider with tubi headers, carbon dynamic airboxes for the intake,
    and test pipes.
My question is: has anybody considered/tried procuring hardware for
reflashing the 5.2 Motronic rather than just taking it to Powerchip and having them do it.
I prefer to do things myself. This car is a hobby for me, and I like to learn about these
things and how they're done-not just drop it off and cross my fingers! Even though a job
like this is better for a tuner, I'm just curious if anyone else has thought about this. M.

    Hey Mark,
I have been considering a flash from Matt at Powerchip as my next upgrade. I haven't heard of anybody else doing it. It seems like a solid, proven, upgrade and even though I like to do things myself I don't think I would mess around with something like this myself. Let me know though if you have any sucess.

I think you're right-I should let someone else do it. I was just wondering
what kind of software was being used to rewrite and the hardware involved
    etc.
I can tell you that getting rid of those airboxes was a significant improvement.
I have only seen a couple of guys talk about Carbon Dynamic Airboxes which go for about $750.00.
I can't say for sure, but I would guess that it's equivalent in performance to the Gruppe M so many speak of?
Maybe somebody will set me straight on this? M.

Mark, do you have any pix of the airboxes to share. Where did you purchase?
I'll tell you that I put Hyperflows on two weeks ago and it just sounds awesome. Seems like there may be a greater push as well.

Hi Billy. I got the airboxes from Eagleday.com-ph.1-888-889-0019
    Here's the link: http://www.eagleday.com/allmacdacady.html
Yeah I hear Hyperflows are great, I'm running test pipes now.
These airboxes are just great. There's a change in sound-like a high-pitched symphony
from 4,000 rpms and up! I have a tubi muffler too-so I don't know how loud you will be
with these-but I really like it. It's not obnoxious!
They do register on the seat of the pants dyno too-a marked difference in my opinion.
    Here are some pics... M.
