The 70's era of F1 must have been filled with so much magic..........man I wish I could have been their.
In the 70 I spend many weekends at the Nürburgring and Hockenheim watching the F1 races. The sound of those V12 engines were remarkable, specially at the Nürburgring when those cars going full speed by the grand stands. At Hockenheim you were able to get into the pit area, were drivers standing around talking to there mechanics. Kind of miss those days! wolfman
we would watch our car go by the pits, walk through behind the pits and see them go past again, you could hear them out of Hatzenbach, then nothing for 7 minutes or so. Time for a ***, then out to pitlane, signal board, then back behind the box etc., etc. good job it was only a few laps!!
it was my first F1 race with John Surtees, I had been doing a few F2 on and off for him. We were there with John WhatsWrong, then we did the Austrian and quit to build the new car for 76.
