Has anyone experienced, too big screw hole for the OEM screw cause someone forced a too big screw in the hole and now you want to put the OEM screw back but the screw will not fit? What to do? Sheetmetal or castiron.

Put a dab of weld into the opening and then redrill it.

Change location of hole - drill a new one.

Helicoils work fine in cast iron.

Helicoil for cast iron.Sometimes with sheet metal the hole is just" stretched" and you can peen it from the back side or squeez it flat with pliers or vice grips to shrink the hole. Good luck,Mike

Depending on the damage, you might need rivnuts or nutserts (when helicoils cannot be made to work.)

I think more information would be useful before adequate advise can be offered. Could you perhaps provide more details about the exact problem you're trying to remedy.
Where (in the car) is it ? Is the problematic component or part removable from the car or are you trying to fix it in place ? What kind of access is available ? Etc...
