    Just picked up a 88 TR and drove it from DC to St. Louis with no issues at all. I bought it with 10,200 and it already has 11,600 in just 5 short days. It is a great machine and love driving it. Unfortunately, the throttle started to stick when let off. It would kick down when I quickly reved the engine. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

    Check the floor mats. They will often slide up and contact the pedal, causing a fast idle. Seriously, check that first before doing anything else, and let us know the result of your inspection. ;)

    typically the issue is either:

    1. Carpet catching throttle pedal..
    2. Frayed / worn throttle cable chafing inside the cable cover... the metal wire becomes un wound / worn and starts to "grab" on the inner race of the cable cover.

    Not a terrible job, but not fun either.... the throttle should be silky smooth but firm.

    I will check the carpet, hopefully it will be that easy. I will be back home on Thursday and will let you know, but it sounds like this is a pretty common issue. I will let you all know, thanks for the quick response!

    Well, checked my carpet and guess what.....it was the reason for my cruise control! I hope all issues are that easy. Thanks for the input.
