    Not from old age either, a car accident, sad. I recently found out that he was an actual helicopter pilot prior to the show. Was always amused by how he would get into the 308. Fair winds and thanks for all the great episodes and memories.

    Definitely, married for 60 years, wanted to be a role model for young kids, a true gentleman. He was in a great episode of Starsky & Hutch (The set-up, part 2) playing a pilot (The Black Baron) of a seriously out of annual aircraft. The guy that played Luther Gillis was in that one too.
