http://www.rockvillemd.gov/events/carshow.htm Who is going? I plan to have at least one car on the field. LS
I'm going. The rules say it is only open to cars upto and includingg 1983. I remember much more recent cars there than that. Whats the real story?
I believe FCA will be offering special parking for all Ferraris on the field. That has been the arrangement in past years. I'm sure someone can chime in and provide details on that subject. LS
I'll see you there again this year. I'm trying to convince Peter to bring the TR (or Evans?) Now that would be a category of one. p.s. A dark day with the death of the 2009 Canadian GP. -Brian
I'm away racing the planned weekend but if it happens on the raindate, may come again with my Lancia.
This months FCA Newsbulletin says Ferrari's 1993 and newer are welcome. It also says contact Steve White by "Sept. 28" for special parking....
I'm registered Generally for the show it is the 25 years or older to display on field Ferrari Club can show on the filed with 15 years or older (1993 & previous) - have to register thru the Rockville site - $15 - may have a late fee If you are a Ferrari Club member AND you are participating in the party at the civic center $15 to register for party & bring a dish - you can park any year Ferrari on the field Usually a variety of food/beer/wine/soda Betsy True is handling party sign ups at 703-780-0349 Hope to see you there. The UPS show is the same day, October 18th. This is an incredible show for all you youngsters out there. Besides, after doing 3 concours in 4 weekends, I'm ready for some hot rods...lots of hot rods! and throw in some T and A and you've got a party! There will be over 1500 cars at this show. Here are some memories from the last 2 years. regards ken Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Why do they always schedule these on the same weekend? They are fairly high profile, recurring local events.... LS
As Barbara said, Ferraris on the field must be 15 years or older. There was also going to be a special parking area for Ferraris newer than that whose owners are participating in the party at the civic center, but I believe Steve White had to be notified by a certain date because the Rockville Car Show people had to build a ramp to get the cars into the special area. I can check to see if that's going to happen. As for the party, it is $15 plus a dish, as Barbara said. Dish doesn't have to be a hot plate type dish--we are looking for chips & dips, finger foods, and pasta/potato salads. We DO need to know in the next couple of days if you are coming to the party so we can plan for sandwiches and beverages, hard and soft, to be available to people who have signed up. Call me if you have any questions. 703-780-0349. Betsy True
Bobbie and I'll be there in the 328. Terrific venue, all kinds of iron always show up, some the real deal, and lotza good people. Crabcakes sometime show up too. Life is good.
Same here Look forward to meeting you guys (and ladies) there - should be there around the same time. Again, is there anywhere we will be parking the Ferraris (if not on the show grounds?) MB
Does anyone know if they will accept a show registration at the gate ( I wont know until the last minute if I can make it)
I was told to register at gate when I called a few days ago. Should be no proble assuming early arrival. I live 10 min a way though. See you all there.
