Wondering about service, anyone know how often you should have one serviced ? who to send it too ? how long does it take ? cost ? I heard not to send it directly to Rolex USA, takes months for them to get them sent back. thanks in advance, John
John, I strongly suggest : http://www.watchuseek.com/rolex.htm They should be able to help you. They've helped me in the past. Glad to help out a fellow aviation guy
Hi John, I started flying back in college and didn't finish my licence. I've flown 150, 152,172, 182, 210, cherokee. I've sat Rt seat on Hawker 700 and GII. I was on the final Concorde flight to IAD and toured Gulfstream. I'll be at the NBAA this year. I'm starting a business in private jet charter (with a twist). How about you? Eric
I recently had my Rolex cleaned by the dealer. Cost over $400 and took them about one month to do it. They do offer a Rolex loaner watch while it is in for cleaning. I've had it for almost 20 years (gift from my wife) and have had it in two times. I'm not saying that I recommend having the dealer do the cleaning, just that I did. Didn't want to screw around with finding a place to do it cheaper. You can only scout out so many deals. We buy and sell our own real estate, purchase most of our cars when they are barely used (like 1 to 6 months old) and sell our cars (instead of trading). Just the money that you save on houses and the cars save more money than almost anything else that you do. So, I don't worry about saving $.40 on a tube of Crest. The money saved is used for flying and to sponsor Rob's car!
Dr C, I notice you are in KC. Who did you take your watch to? I have been real happy with Meierotto's.
I had my Submariner cleaned/serviced at my local Rolex dealer several years ago. They charged $200. They have a Rolex horologist on staff. The watch came out looking new.
Jason: I took it to Tivol's. We bought it from Tom originally and he's always been great to deal with.
