with his new family, all the money he'll ever need, and having secured a life-long dream, it would seem that that's enough for nico. i can greatly respect that.

he probably also just can't stand another year as the diva's teammate!! ;-)

 

and a slightly desirable seat opens up...

Between being teammate with Elton and the fact that RB will be much stronger next year weighed heavily on his mind. Wow I'm sure wehrlein will get the drive now..

That would indeed be great, but I don't think Mercedes is interested in Alonso's paycheck.

Button, Massa and now Rosberg; three "oldtimers" leaving....

 

He's a p***y but also quite smart. He knows it will take a miracle to defend that titel or to even win another one, so why not quit now.

He will for sure not be missed. Bye Bye Mr. "Perfect"

 

He's had a pretty amazing career for a F1 driver. Very few have attained what he's done, such longevity with a team, and ending up with a WDC.

 

In other news:

WOW! Good for him to leave on a high, he probably knows this was his best and maybe only shot at the title.

It would be a disservice to every talented driver on the grid if Wehrlein gets that seat. Please let it be Alonso.

IMO Wehrlein I simply wouldn't want. Zero marketability, he comes across as weird, and was matched by Ocon who had no experience...

I'd do my best to get alonso. Ham Vs ALO pt2. I bet Bernie is on the phone now trying to sort this, TV ratings will go up again.

 

I hope Alonso, ricciardo or Maxine goes to Mercedes now and hand elton his ass on a plate....

 

Hmm interesting ...Vettel? was bit weird how he didnt challenge Nicole who almost freaked out when his race engineer told him he had to pass Max ...
