My front and rear rotors measure 1.125" thick with no deep grooves. Is it safe to say that they can be resurfaced?
    Thanks

I was told some time ago it is not a good idea to re-surface drilled rotors, not sure why ...

That's what I was asking (well implying).

    I've no idea why either.

I had my rotors turned at a Ferrari Dealer.

They did not do it in house...Simply farmed it out.

    Good luck.

Maybe while everything is apart you can have the brakes striped and repainted???

Check the brake pads also...The list on these cars never ends?!?!?! LOL!!!

Rotors that have been turned will be more prone to overheating and warping. On the advice of people smarter than me, I've just replaced pads until the rotors were shot. They will bed into existing grooves.

Inside the rotor there's a minum thickness can not go below that but they can be resurfaced

In Europe these are popular particularly for corroded discs or where run out is causing issues. I'm not sure if there is anything similar in the US.

Pro-Cut : On-car brake lathes, quickly resurface the brake disks

The minimum disc thickness is in the WSM also.

I bought new Brembo rotors for the front of mine for £65 (approximately $100) each. It generally isn't cost effective to do anything but replace them here. The only difference was the centres needed painting in zinc primer.

    Edit. US website....

Alan- You can download a 360 Spider WSM at ferraridatabase.com. Wear limit is 26 mm or 1.024", so you can turn your rotors if they need it. Here are guidelines on whether your rotors are useable.

Thanks Terry. So if the wear limit is 1.024 then it looks as if I have about 0.10" (0.05" each side) of metal that can be removed (as long as there are no cracks per the WSM).

I tried that, but ended up with incurable brake squeal. The fixed caliper design of the Brembos (as contrasted with the floating caliper design of many cars, such as BMWs) aren't very forgiving in terms of brake noise. The only way to achieve quiet is to make sure the rotors are true (either have them resurfaced or get new ones). Last time around, I got these StopTech rotors.

I seems as if you are being contradictory -- rotors need turning to make them run true but when you turned them you got incurable brake squeal. I'm confused.

Re-read his post. He said that if he didn't turn the rotors but let pads bed into existing wear pattern on rotors he got squeal.
