Over on the F1 usenet group, there's a guy claiming that Eddie Jordan is about to sell out his interest to Audi. Naturally there's no public confirmation on any of the normal F1 sites. Does anyone have any info on this?

If it's true (IMO, not likely), then what brand do you see Audi running the car under? Audi, Lambo, Skoda?

rumors of this nature were big on sunday. i think its probably true. the only big manufacturers not in the game at the moment are gm, vw/audi, and nissan. of the three, vw/audi the most likely to buy into an f1 team. audi has won le mans 3 times in a big way, won again with their other brand bentley, so it would not surprise me to see them step up to the next rung on the ladder to do f1. also, they do have a rep for paying too much for things....which wud suit eddie very well......

I'm surprised its taken VW group so long.
BMW (V12 LM) and Mercedes (CLK GTR) did the same...conquer (or nearly in Mercedes' case) Le Mans and the endurance Sports Car scene then head into F1. There were rumours last year that Sauber would be taken over by VW but that came to nothing.

    Cheers
    Simon

I thought there was a company from China trying to get into F1 too.

Your correct Rob,its a China organization backing the team with about 50% ownership into the team. As per the rules and Regulations Eddie would still have to be a majority holder based on the F1 rules. If Eddie is selling out over 50% I believe he needs to get the blessing of King Bernie first for approval.

This month's Sport Auto says that Jordan is looking into selling 2 EJ14 chassis to the Arden F3000 team who is seeking to move up to F1. Looking at how the Jordan behaves this year, this must be a fantastic deal ...
I also heard on TV that Jackie Stewart might be buying the Jaguar team back at a much lower price than what he sold it for to Ford.

I don't see Audi going into F1, there's much cheaper and safer PR. Look at Toyota, or how long it took Honda to become competitive. Renault seems to be the exception to the rule.

This is false information. According to the Associated Press, The Jordan F1 team is going to be sold to an investor from the Midle Eastern State of Dubai. Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates. It is a rich trading country and the new investor is a rich business man from Dubai.

This was also on www.f1live.com in a small part of bigger story they covered.
