Well, went out for a bit of a drive this arvo in Rog's 06 Gallardo.....

Observations (not that my opinion counts for much):

    * Seems alot heavier on turn in and general steering duties compared to a Porsche or FCar.

    * Very very torquey down low, sounds like it's been eating bauxite for breakfast lunch and tea and the clutch take up and gear change is very easy to come to grips with.

    * Incredible panel fit and general interior appointments (on another level compared to the F430) (Can anyone see the issue in pic 1?)

    * Black will be an absolute nightmare to keep clean.

The only downside for me was that i felt too comfortable in the car, as in when it's pushed hard it doesn't make you fear for your life....... but that can also be a good thing i guess.

All in all, a privelege once again to partake in a steer of an exotic.

    Thanks Rog.

Damn, I thought all the 06's had the Callisto (spelling?) wheels like the SE and Spyder....obviously not. :(

Still a stunning machine, looks evil in black.

Congrats again scud and look forward to seeing it soon. :)

Calistos are a pretty expensive option IIRC. Car looks great either way.

Scud, how good was the clear bra job?

What about consumption? You should have got good mileage at the speed limit. :)

clear bra not 100% . consumption was higher than my 430 for the same run . i was running at about 120kph the whole way . maybe at 100 , the numbers would of been better . i ran under a speed check in victoria and at 110 on my dash , the sign said 96 !!!! . in my 430 at 110 the sign said 105 . go figure

pp my life has changed forever since meeting you . as for the car , it feels a bit numb through the wheel , probably because of the AWD . it has heaps of torque and the exhaust note is better than the 430 . only really enjoyed the sound after taking her through the city and the noise bouncing off the buildings was great . very happy with the purchase but if i could only have one , it would still be the 430 . i think this car could go to the next level if they made it RWD . hopefully this will come with later models

so Lambo are still fudging the numbers , I went thru that speed check in VIC in the gt4 at 110 indicated and it showed 107 and this was a 30yo car!!

I think the Gallardo has an excellent sound on startup, more brutal than the 430, as usual most Ferraris sound their best at high rpm

I took the M5 through those things on the Ballarat freeway going both ways and at the same speed on the car's speedo, there was 5 km/h difference on the overhead signs.

I would still get the dealer to check it though. It is way too much out.

I'll see what I can find but the titanium coloured Callistos are an SE fitment only AFAIK so we are looking for someone who has tinted theirs.

BTW, if you want some SE wheels, you might find someone in the States who will sell you theirs as they seem to love ugly aftermarket rims there.
