    The gun was a 2.2 air rifle, we have the pellet that was taken out of him and it is hard to believe that something so small can do all that damage.

    Steve, best wishes to Schumi, if I ever caught anyone doing anything like that to my cat, it would be an ugly outcome. Hopefully DGS is right and it wasn't deliberate, but if it was, let it all out on 'em mate. Give the kitty a scratch behind the ears for me!

    Well, since it was a pellet gun the person had to have been pretty close to do it. Esp since pellets fly slower than BBs. Did the rabbit hunters have a pellet gun? Do you ever see anyone with one walking around in that area?

    We see a lot of kids and adults crossing our property to get to nearby fields and woods, we put up with it mainly but i have told a few kids off who stray to near the house and sheds/garages.

    Great to hear that you cat will be ok. I just caught up on this thread. Even though I am not the biggest fan of cats due to alergies, I have to say to do anything to an household pet is just fcking wrong. Hope Schumi gets better, and for once we are not talking about MS! :) :)

    My dog (Clyde) is constantly trying to clean Schumi's wounds and wash him, but we have to stop him as there could be a risk of passing on an infection.

    Steve, despite the physical injury and any lasting effects that it may have on Shumi, Schumi will most certainly develop a closer bond with you and your family since he will really understand that you have taken care of him, and he will return that affection in spades.
