What products do you guys use to clean and treat your seats? I know I could do a search, but just wondering what our locals use. I really want to know what Dave uses on his Boxer. I've occaionally read horror stories about what some products can do to recently dyed leather.
All that I use is the Same Stuff that they use on Expensive Leather Furniture. Many, many Years ago,I used to work at Dania Furniture. (Like a "Scandinavian Design" store, too. All European Furniture. Most of it from Denmark,Norway and Italy.). And they Sold some Leather Recliners that were anywhere from $1-2,000.00 and Up. Mostly "Ekorness" Imported from Norway. And,Italian Leather Sofa's,Chairs,ETC... And they also Sold Leather Conditioner and Cleaner for them. The Cleaner was called "Cavo-Ox" It was made mostly from Bone Marrow of Cows,(Where the Leather also came from. Makes sense to me.) It really does a great job of Cleaning the Leather and getting it soft and Hydrated. And,a nice Conditioner Called "Ekorness Hide Bracer". You can find those Products,or similiar ones at most Fine Furniture Stores.Or where they Sell nice Leather Coats, too. I have had great results with them. And I consider my Ferrari Seats as Fine Leather Furniture...so why not! Otherwise,I know that there are some decent Products at the Auto Parts Stores, but have never tried them.
6:1 mix of water:Woolite to clean (with soft brush or microfiber towel), followed by whatever leather conditioner you like (Lexol or other). If it's super dirty, buy some Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and soak in the woolite/water mix before gently wiping. supplies: http://autopia-carcare.com/cockpit.html detailing info: http://www.autopia.org/
BTW....Try to find something that has the least amount of Chemicals, and most amount of Natural substances. The Cavo-Ox is All Natural. Don't forget...Leather is Skin, and it needs to be Moisturized and Hydrated, too. Have you ever seen the skin on Old Norwegian People? Super Smooth. ( I know a few Old Norwegians... Uffda!) Not all wrinkly. They have some kind of secret over there in that Cold North Country... BTW...I have several Bottles of the Ekorness Hide Bracer. I'd be more than glad to give you one next time that I see you... F.O.C. Christmas Party, perhaps?
Doesn't leatherique contain whale sperm? Those Scandinavians are something else. I've been to Iceland a few times and the 90 year old ladies there are like 65 year olds over here. Incredibly healthy people. I think it's the swimming and the fish.
Yes,I agree with you about the Fish in their Diet. One of my (2nd) Ex-Wife's Norwegian Uncles was in his Mid 90's. And his Skin was like a baby's. Unbelievable! But,I Don't know nothin' 'bout no Whale Sperm.... EEEK!
