The serenissima agena was awesome looking...so whats the story? I realize this car never made it into production but I would assume detomaso wasnt too happy with Ghia styling a car in a similar manner to the mangusta which had just been released/shown a few years earlier?

    Where is this car today?

Silver, the red Serenissima actually has a Mangusta chassis ( don't know if it has (had) a 8MA**** serial number) also these other (or maybe same car rebodies also has a Mangusta chassis)

IIRC Ghia did some contract work for the count - can't remember which book I read that from.

Funny how the real car looks much better than the rendering; usually it is the other way around. Is the rendering dated, and who signed it?

Post #4...bottom photo, I wonder what the yellow painted piece of metal under the car is for?....at first I thought it was a tow hook, but it is not a complete circle, more like a horse shoe shape....Mark

The side view looks an awful lot like the Monteverdi Hai.

    First was the Serenissima Ghia

in 1969 Tjaarda does the De Tomaso Mustela which looks like the front half of the Iso Fidia and the back half of the Serenissima.

Also In 1969 he does the Lancia (Fulvia) 1600 HF Competizione which looks like the Serenissima Ghia all over again

    1970 The Pantera Yea!

then in 1970 Lancia Flavia) Giacobbi Sinthesis 2000, which looks like the Serenissima still no takers

1971 The DeTomaso Zonda which looks like the Serenissima again

And finally in 1973 the De Tomaso/Ford Pantera 7X De Tomaso Monttella 1/1 197X (1975) which looks like the Serenissima Ghia

It's a good looking design and amazing that in never caught on

GIOTTO;143060498]Holy mother of god. How is this possible? I expected these photos since a very long time. Thanks so much for sharing. Are the cars still stored somewhere in italy?

    I think so!
The cars were not discovered yet !

"Serenissima McLaren M1C", was a Coupe, built 67/8 from Drogo. The very car was later converted - from Drogo again - in the pictured white "Serenissima 308SP Spider Avional". Same chassis, enforced and converted 68/9 with "Avional", a light and strong composite material from the aircraft industry.
