    - Kiehl's Close Shavers Squadron Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream
    - Neutrogena's Razor Defense™ Shave Gel

I dig the smell of the Neutrogena, and tried to find a good smelling gel rather than the typical gel in a can stuff. The Neutrogena isn't as smooth and more susceptible for razor burns than the Keihls. It's 5 bucks for a tube instead of ~14 for the Keihls.

    So what do you prefer?

And if you are thinking of something else... feel free to answer the question, but keep it work safe please. =)

After shave (BALM) gets rotated between: Emporio Armani, Burberry Weekend, Ceasar's (got it in Vegas; liked the scent in the spa, but hardly use it), and Kenneth Cole

I either do it right after a hot shower or I put a HOT washcloth on my face to prep it. After shaving, I immediately use a cold washcloth on my face and then apply after shave balm. It feels so good.

    I love shaving.

Okay, let's start a new section called "Sharing Advice/Tips for Metrosexuals". Use a sharp knife and cold water. The only 5reference to shaving should be from Dave M. - men have the strangest requests.

    Moisture is the key!

    Apply HOT towel (opens pores)
    E-shave (Lanolin)
Mach 3 Turbo (only choice for me)
    Rinse (tepid water)
    Cool towel (closes pores)
Alum Block (tightens skin / helps with the occasional nick)

I shave in the shower with a Mach 3 turbo...............just lots of water and I shave REALLY SLOWLY going with the grain. If you have tough skin gels, etc, and such are not really required IMHO. Frankly.............it's just another expense and too much hassle.

Afterwards I use an aluminium block and then apply the appropriate scent of "panty remover" if required.

Love the Mach 3. Yes, moisture first. I use an aloe formula shave cream and Hugo Boss Balderasini (sp?) conditioner.

Has anyone used a new Quattro 4 blade razor yet?

eh, no, not really. I just thought of it this morning when I decided not to shave because I was the only one going to be up here at work today.

but queer-eye or not, still some good tips in here. I wasn't aware of the Alum Bar.

    Art of Shaving

My wife bought me some for my birthday this past October and it is the best stuff I have ever used. I have tried everything form Edge to Kiehls-sp? I have very sensitive oily skin and I have never had a closer and more pain free shave than the one I am getting right now. My wife bought me these items:

    1) Pre-shave oil-A must for sensitive skin and for those who get razor bumps.

    2) Shave cream with brush-the brush lifts the hair and makes it easier to shave closer without re-shaving over and over.

    3) After shave balm or gel-sooths and helps against razor burn and bumps.

They also have an alum block...

The staff is very helpful in finding what products work best for your skin. I also use their shampoo and conditioner-great stuff as well. They have a store here in Dallas that I would like to go to, in the meanwhile I buy it at Neiman Marcus.

There is also Jack Black-I prefer the Art of Shaving

    Best regards,
    Marcus

Lasts 4 times longer than other blades, never nicks, gets smoother with each use instead of vice-versa & I've got a tough beard.

I hate to frickin shave. I'm down to about once every five days, which obviously perpetuates the dilemma. I use the Neutrogena cream and after shave. It's good, I guess (wife bought it for me), but not as easy to use as the lotion. My skin's not sensitive, so it's all much ado about nothing, really. I had a barber shave me once with a straight razor and I almost freaked out. When he put the blade to my neck it made my hair stand on end. Too many "mob" movies, I guess.

I'm with Gilles27, I hate to shave. There was once in my life where I had to shave everyday for work, now I shave a couple, maybe 3, times a week. But I don't like to look "dirty" either, so I shave a few times a week. My wife likes a little scruff, so I can get away with not shaving for a few days if I feel like it. :)
