Just received an email from Capt. Z and he was able to repair the broken actuator I sent him it was off the pax front shock 1999 550. He mentioned that the motor wiring internally had twisted and broke a connection. Capt Z said he had ran into this problem before and remembers there is a fix to keep the shock shaft from turning. Does anyone know. I also have acquired a code reader that has Ferrari and 550. this car does not have a OBD2 port. Where do you hook up? thanks

She should have an OBDII port. Even Euro 550s had one by 1999. If it is a US model, they all had one. May not have worked on Euro Ferraris, but it is there.

Ferrari published a tech bulletin on how to make the port operational after they attempted to make them non-operational on US Ferraris. EPA came down on Ferrari like a ton of bricks.
