    Hi,

just wondering if anyone has had this issue. On my GTS the passenger side window is smeared on the outside and I just took delivery on the 18th September. Took it back to the dealer ( H.R. Owen in London) the next day and the sales rep. Tried his best and when that didn’t work he asked me to go to Tooaz (detailer they used to apply the ceramic coating - I did not get PPF because the car lives in a garage but in hindsight I should have, I already put a tiny scratch on the driver’s door whilst exiting the car in the garage) at The Pennisnsula Horel (top place). The Topaz guy seemed to have been able to succeed but the smers are back! Called the dealer again and told him that the Topaz guy believed it might have been from the factory (some grease) and now the dealer will take it back to their workshop in Hatfield and see what they can do. Disappointing that the PDI did not pick this up. Anyone else had this issue and was able to find a resolution themselves? I would be grateful for any advice.

Almost ever one of my Ferraris has had this issue- 430, 458, 812, 296GTB. It is grease from the power window assembly. Door panel needs to be removed, mechanism cleaned and rubber weather stripping removed and cleaned. You can clean the window yourself with rubbing alcohol or adhesive remover- not it does not damage anything. If you do nothing it eventually stops leaving marks. Frankly I usually just clean it myself (not removing door panel). I have seen this with other brands too.

Thanks. I will try the self-cleaning method also. Not keen to have the major surgery done lest things start to rattle.

    Hi,
Finally I had to send the car in and they discovered excessive lubricant from window mechanism as suspected. It’s been done and now hope to enjoy some more driving before winter sets in

I drove the car a bit. There are still some slight smears. I think I will try and use rubbing alcohol. Can’t be bothered to send it back again.
