    well, my dad and i accidentally read some instructions wrong and put in double of what we should have for alkalinity increaser. What can this do? I assume its not safe to go in it?

    Add acid to get the Ph back in line.

    PW nailed it! It should take two minutes. Hell, most people rarely ever check that! Now if he put 2 or 3X the amount of chlorine, he'd have some really pissed of lady's with all-white bathing suits!

    There's chlorine netralizer as well. Professional pool supply houses and some retail fronts may carry it. Bleached bathing suits... bleached hair... not a good party!

    check the ph first than add acid to reduce - it takes some circulation before you will get a stable PH reading
