I only had one dealing with him..the WORST I ever had with any car..and this was a Dealer to Dealer transaction. Almost ALL his cars are consignment cars from what I have seen and deal with.

    I could not recommend him.

Well, it sounds like you are do something with that 400. I say ask all around on the forums to find out who owns it and try to contact that person directly.

I have dealt with him on a few different deals. He often brokers cars and doesn't always see them personally. I had one issue with a car that he was told was better than it was. The other two cars were excellent and Jim was more than accommodating with inspections etc. Of course some would bash him as they compete with him - no surprise by some on this board - but he is a straightforward guy IMO.

    Thanks for your comments.

Yes, I've inquired about one car from his weblist, one week later I still have no news...

called him, email him... no answer !

If I would have called Roy or Joe, just to mention good fellows on this board, they would have jump to reply/answer...

LOL no competition and no bashing, just a statement of fact.

...and it appears I am not the only one that has had an issue.

I have bought 2 cars from Jim; both transactions were smooth with no surprises, prices were fair, cars as represented (of course, PPI by Gary B.). Plenty of 'customer service'; before & after. Was a few years ago. Based on that, I would recommend him (and I have). YMMV.

He has pictures of cars at OTHER Lamborghini dealerships. And every single plate on the cars and signs in the background are poorly edited out.

For example, this Diablo which he claims is sold. It is clearly at Lambo Houston.
1995 Used Lamborghini Diablo VT at Sports Car Company, Inc. Serving La Jolla, IID 7221368

    How about this diablo 6.0;
    Jake's motorcar website:
2001 Lamborghini Diablo 6.0 VT San Diego, California | Jake's Motorcars

    Jim's:
2001 Used Lamborghini Diablo VT at Sports Car Company, Inc. Serving La Jolla, IID 8382979

Note that Jim uses the exact same pictures, but edits out (poorly) all the "Jake's Motorcars" information. Unfortunately Jim can't edit the "Jake's" sign out of the background of the pictures with the doors up. So he simply didn't put them up.

I purchased cars from Jim before working for him and after working for him. Jim has a huge inventory of cars that he OWNS along with the occasional consignment car for a friend. He also works with other dealers in trying to market cars. There is no conspiracy here. If your serious about buying a car talk to Jim. If your a tire kicker or don't have a pot to piss in then go bother someone else.

I have left the rat race of CA and sold all my Ferrari to live life on an island in the northeast. Jim is one of the most decent people I have ever run across in my life. I would not defend him otherwise. A lot of other people are jealous, compete with him, etc. Talk to people who have purchased cars from him. You can't make everyone happy but the guy sells a lot of car and could not do that unless he ran a solid business.

    don't worry about my intentions...

I already owned/bought 44 Porsche, 10 Lamborghini and so on with Ferrari, Austin Healey, etc... you should look at profile before speaking of "tire kicker"...

as a matter of fact, he was not clever/friendly speaking with a foreign customer, I don't know why, what I know is I got more friendly contact with a lot other US traders, including guys of this Forum

I didn't call you a tire kicker. I was speaking in general terms. Perhaps Jim was busy, on vacation or you just didn't hit it off. This is not a retail store with a lot of staff.

that is patently incorrect in fact he has cars stored all over san diego.

now, the other comments made by roy and others I fully support as truth.
