I just purchased a used 02 360 with 2500 miles on the speedo. When I start it up there is a strange noise, sounds like exhaust. My porsche did the same thing, like there is something loose in the muffler. On the porsche this is a common noise is this the same with a 360? Thanks in advance

If your car has the standard exhaust, then it could be the additional noise given off because the 2 exhaust valves are open on starting. These valves are vacuum activated, and only close once the engine has started and created some vacuum. Once the engine exceeds about 4000 rpm, they are opened again. So when you initially start the car, it sounds louder for a few seconds.
    regards,

It sounds more mechanical rather than exhaust. It lasts about 10 to 20 seconds and goes away, this happens only from a cold start. The car has a F1 transmission could there be a sound from it coming up to pressure? I know the sound when I open the door the F1 motor turns on for about 10 seconds, and this is not the noise. I hope this is normal, any input. Thanks in advance

If it happens only from cold starts then it's normal. (hat the same on my cars)

But i have no idea as to why...

Not sure about the F1 box, mine is manual. Only other noise I get on start up when cold is a scooshing noise within the first 20 secs, I assume this is fluid getting pumped forward to the coolers.
