Just today I started hearing a scraping noise from behind the boss/hub on the steering wheel. I cannot see anything, but is it relatively safe to take the wheel and hub off to look? Never done it before, and can't find any DIY instructions on the web, but looks like the 3 hex screws to get the wheel off, then 2 bolts holding the boss/hub on? Anything I should be worried about falling out and never seeing again?

The noise is quite significant (not faint) and I'm worried about it being a loose screw that could jam the steering.

Mind the delicate wiring for the horn button.

You will need the special socket to remove big nut for the steering wheel hub.
I had to make one out of an old socket.

And now we're getting to the gold. Easier to take it to Brian?
