    I've been gradually re-united with my possessions over the last couple of weeks and the other day I made a stab at putting the stereo together. First, the EQ device for the Bose speakers wouldn't turn on. So, I contact Bose (excellent/easy contact btw), and they're going to rebuild it. Then I remember that the power amp has lost one channel, but I can still get tunes without that, right?
    Wrong. For some dang reason the little Proton amp/receiver won't produce any volume beyond a whisper--so, I'm determined to buy a new amp/receiver, and I'd like to keep this in the $500-$600 range. I haven't paid much attention to stereo for a long time and I'm seeking some suggestions (Lamour, shut up--I seriously need help).
