Is the government over-reacting?

  1. No, not at all, all natural is the way to be

  2. Yes, they should have better things to do, it is unreasonable

  3. Who cares?

So it seems to be one of the topics of the moment. Having know some users in the past, I thought I'd chime in. I am sure with my dedication to working out, if I could get over that fear of needles, I'd probably be huge by now, but in the mean time, watching first hand the results in people, I have to say that in those cases, they were not as bad as anyone was making them out to be. I'd think that when baseball players have robotic arms that is when I draw the line, but until that point, so long as they are flesh and bone, it is alright with me. And if roid rage was such a reality, why hasn't some visiting playergone samurai on the beer-swilling Boston crowds?

I mean, we don't gripe about inserting foreign materials into the human body in the name of vanity that quadruples the chances of MS and triples the chances of suicide, but a guy hits a ball a little further and damn! they crack down.

Currently they are treated like cocaine and other hardcore drugs, when the are not mood altering drugs unless you really go out of your way to abuse them, and even in that case it is more of a hormonal imbalance, not directly the drug itself. Sorta like that influx of hormones at puberty when we all got unruly (SCREW YOU DAD, I'M OUTTA HERE!) we all remember that stage.

    So here is the poll:

So what is the question, precisely?

Do I think steroids and other enhancements in pro sports should be banned? Sure, just to keep an even playing field.

Do I think that joe bodybuilder in the local gym should be locked up for juicing up? No, that's his decision, and if the results are worth the side effects more power to him.

I dislike the enhancers just because they don't promote fairness within the game itself, and anything that destabilizes the game (especially baseball) is harmful to the fans, the other players, the groundcrews, etc. If some local barbell bozo wants to deactivate his testicles for extra inches on the bicep, it doesn't harm anyone else.

I personally have never taken them but know many bodybuilders that have. To get freakish muscle mass is virtually impossible w/out them. 99.9% of high level amateurs & pros use combinations of them. The trick in all sports is to use & get maximum gain then quit in time for the blood to clear for competition testing. Outlawing something is hard to do when there is no proof. I guess the field IS level if everyone takes them. I don’t think steroids are healthy but there are worse things.
Personally, I will never have the size to progress beyond the state & regional titles (Ms Georgia, All South, Confederate States) I’ve won but I choose to train “clean”. I have spent a ton of $ on supplements & various protein powders, etc – not that they are more “natural” than testosterone but are legal & FDA controlled. If I was a pro athlete & steroids were a necessary edge, I’d take them & play out my career.
There is that T-shirt: “If You Need Drugs to Win – You Lose”.
    I vote neutral.

The supplement industry is largely NOT REGULATED BY THE FDA that is why things like Cortislim are still on the market. Some protein shakes, etc do well, but the only thing that really worked well were prohormones, and those were banned.

If that's what floats your boat then go for it and leave the gov't out.

I do have one request however:

When the pecker stops working properly and the nuts just hang around doing nothing and the zits pop up everywhere and the delusions start coming on, don't expect me to pay for the shrink, the straitjacket, the rehab or the broken fvked up life. I friend of mine in HS got into the bodybuilding thing and dropped roids like crazy. His head got fvked up and he hauled off and slugged his mom with a closed fist. He is presently in loserville where he will be spending the rest of his life.
