What 328 are you selling? A package deal might be interesting.

I have never seen one like this, normally a car made in October has the next model year assigned to it in the VIN coding, 1989's were made in late 1988 or October 1988 so I'm confused why it's marked as a 'J' in the VIN and not a 'K', Factory error? What's the title say on it?

The car is a 1988 model pure and simple. Federal law states the "J" in the 10th position makes it a 1988 model no matter what the title or any other registration paperwork says in my world.

The serial number 79119 puts it near the end of the 1988 production run. Here is the 1988 serial number range for Testarossa 74103 - 79219.

Total 1988 Testarossa production was 1072, with 390 US models from my notes.

Wheel style is a lousy way to determine the model year of a car. The 10th digit of the VIN on US models is all that matters.

For reference, the "1988.5" Testarossas that have 5-bolt wheels from the factory started at or around serial number 75997.

    It’s what they call
A 88.5 earlier 88 had single nuts and sometime in 88 they introduced the 5 lugs.

    My bad guys...
I know 88.5 and newer have 5 lugs. I was mislead by the first photo showing 1989.
Yes, I am aware of the Vin and the split year for single.

Anyone in the market for a red TR would be a fool not to make an offer on this one. It's very well priced considering the maintenance and provenance.

With Ferrari there is no telling. On year 308 production run was 15 months long and the next model year was 8. I have seen 90TRs with higher VINs than 91's. They get a lot of latitude from the government and they use it.

Has anyone seen the car in person? Lots of praise on this car on this site. Is it based on the pictures or personal knowledge of the car? Serious question.

I dont think many people posting here have seen the car. It is for sale at the dealer in NYC. I think they can best answer questions on top of the OP and help facilitate PPI if a prospective buyer is interested

This car is sold as far as I know. Kevin told me there was a signed offer and it was going to Florida. I haven't heard differently.

What nonsense. The market is stronger on the late cars.
