I thought I would try a new thread idea out. I have been lucky enough to visit the factory once in 1993, but I find the history of the place fascinating. As such, I thought I would start a thread showing pictures of the factory throughout the years.
If you want to contribute, your pictures of any visits to the factory would be most welcome. If you can include who took them and when, that would be even better, as it all helps place things into context.
The first B&W images are from the material I was able to find at CAR magazine, as are the images of the Countach production line and the Silver Jalpa and the image of Valentino in the cafeteria. The images from 1993 are mine, while the Diablo assembly line and partially assembled cars are also from CAR.
I hope you enjoy my idea.

    Regards,
    Paul

The first attempt was a bit too dark, so I've brightened it up a bit, but it now looks a bit strange. I'd love to know what the documents on Ferruccio's desk say...

Paul, you know that this jalpa pic is almost historic since it shows the very first car after the prototype and most supposely the car which was later converted into the spyder now being in Tonino's musuem?

i was going to say the same thing
    very interesting pic!

it was tested by more than one mag. and was still a proto (different seats...)
the first production car should be a black one

CLA12002 was unfortunately destroyed by fire...

Emilio, can you ask in Tonino's museum whether it's possible to take pictures of the engine bay to check for the VIN?

Yes, I was aware it was an important Jalpa and was wondering what had happened to it. When the late and much missed Marcel de Lange scanned in some of my slides and images on to a disc, he titled the pictures of this car with JalpaCLA12001 in the name. He's a more well-known image taken at the same time.

Could you please scan it and sent to the jalpa-email since that magazine is missing in the list.

Jack Robinson (the USA tech director in the Miura days) told me he had the distinction of being thrown out of that office by Ferruccio when he stopped by to complain about the insufficient technical data of the owners manuals by showing what Porsche's manuals were like. The next day Ferruccio made up for it by taking him out to lunch!

Good idea Joe and guess what... I'm right there at Santa Agata B... spending tonight at Grand Hotel Bologna - Pieve di Cento.

Tomorrow after my "usual trip" at factory, I will spend rest of the day with some Lamborghini family members... gonna to be thrilling !

Emilio, you can call me around 5 PM on 0032 477 763 911 and we can meet at Crevalcore ?
Overwise, I will stay near Lucca untill 28th August.

I will report when I'll be back in Belgium by 5th September.

    Ciao from SAB,
    Olivier
