    Hi Folks,

Last two times I have gotten a speeding ticket the officer said "Look I'll just make it for a driving infraction, but not speeding" last time the policeman added - "though you'll still get two points." Are they being nice or is this a way so that the ticket can not be challenged? Anyone have any thoughts? Thank you. Yale

I think anything other then reckless or speeding is better. The two points you can just take a driving coarse and get it swept under the rug. Who knows maybe you can even talk to the prosecutor and get the two pointer down to a expensive parking ticket.

The donut shark is just doing what the prosecutor would do if you showed up and plead to the lesser, or had a lawyer do it for you: Turn it into a municipal "cash stays here" ticket.

If you do contest it, you could probably get the points knocked for a higher fine. It's all about the bennies in the end.

True. Any ticket can be contested. Even if he/she writes you for a lesser offense, you still have the right to plead NOT GUILTY.
