I am looking at a set of tires for my AC Mark IV (Cobra). Can anyone tell me the difference in dimensions between a 245/50R16 and a 255/50R16? The car is now shod in the rear with the 255, but they don't have its replacement. Will the 245 be ok as a replacement? The front is a 225/50R16.

Anyone have any experience with the Potenza RE960 AS Pole Position?

There's is not much if any difference in the width between the 245 and 255, maybe a centimeter.

How wide is your the rim it's fitting on? I'm guessing 8 1/2 - 9 inch wide rim?

On my C5 Vette, the front rim is 8 inches wide by 17 tall and it can go from a 245 all the way up to a 275 tire so you don't have anything to worry about with a 245 tire.

The contact patch will be slightly wider, and the sidewall will be marginally smaller, that's about all.

I posted my query on several different groups that I belong to, but the responses here were by far the smartest and most valuable. Thanks!

Scott, I have had the Bridgestone SO3's for 2 years and 5,000 miles and really like them in wet and dry conditions. I think they are similar to the pole position.
