Here's a dilemma for you.... With all your honor and dignity what would you do? The test only has one question, but it's a very important one. Please don't answer it without giving it some serious thought. By giving an honest answer you will be able to test where you stand morally. The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation, where you will have to make a decision one way or the other. Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous. Please consider each line -- this is important for the test to work accurately.

You're in Florida...In Miami, to be exact... There is great chaos going on around you, caused by a hurricane and severe floods. There are huge masses of water all over you. You are a CNN photographer and you are in the middle of this great disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless. You're trying to shoot very impressive photos. There are houses and people floating around you, disappearing into the water. Nature is showing all its destructive power and is ripping everything away with it. Suddenly you see a man in the water, he is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken away by the masses of water and mud. You move closer. Somehow the man looks familiar. Suddenly you know who it is -- it's George W. Bush! At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him away, forever. You have two options. You can save him or you can take the best photo of your life. So you can save the life of George W. Bush, or you can shoot a Pulitzer prize winning photo, a unique photo displaying the death of one of the world's most powerful men. And here's the question (please give an honest answer) .... Would you select color film, or rather go with the simplicity of classic black and white?

I'd have to rescue the poor bastard

I could never by my own inaction allow Dick Cheney to become president of the United States.

why is this even a question? who wouldn't save him is a more valid question. Only sociopaths will do things like that. Given that situation 99.8% of all people will save a human life.

Have you ever saved anyone's life? I did once. And put myself in a bit of danger. It is terrifying. I would say, it felt like instinct. In your heart and soul, most people know what human life is worth and it would be very difficult to turn away from that gut reaction to help them, even if they were a very bad person, which Bush is not. Post a poll about saving Hitler or Sadaam. Now there's a moral dilema. In the end for me, there is nothing worth eternal damnation. I wouldn't kill unless unless they threatened me or my family. Because really in this instance, you are killing someone. I think anyone moraly would look at it that way and I believe our court system would also.

I think the answer is pretty obvious. Some of the classic tv shows of the 60's (Gilligan's Island, The Beverly Hillbillies, I Dream of Jeannie, etc.) were filmed in both B&W and color. Which of those episodes would you rather see? I say the ones in color. The B&W ones they tried to colorize, especially the Gilligan's Island episodes, look too hokey and unnatural for my tastes...

Dont forget about Hogan's Heros. But I think I would rather see COMBAT! during the black and white episodes. They were so much better.

As for the question. I would be using a digital camera and have the option of both. So ha!

Color. You can always convert it to B&W if necessary.

The Combat! mention got me thinking that the best westerns were also in B&W (Rawhide, The Rifleman, the old Gunsmokes). So maybe it's best that the comedies should be in color and the dramas in B&W? With this in mind, now what do I pick for the original scenario here with Dubya's predicament? I'm going to have to change my opinion to B&W...

    Agreed.

Remember this is during a hurricane, lots of dramatic clouds and low light. How could anyone NOT use black and white (maybe with a polorizing filter), under these circumstances? Converting color to B&W would not capture the drama.

Next question please, make it harder. (and deeper)
