When do you think Toyota will start reaching a consistent points paying position Considering the massive amount of money they are pumping into their program results are bound to happen. When does everyone think that time will be?

Toyota is spending money hand over fist with little or no reason for doing so. IMHO they need to step back and look at finding the real problems with there team and then focus on spending money on fixing the problem.

Until they do this they will only show small flashes of brilliance.

Just because you are spending lots of money doesn't mean you are going to get results. Cough, cough, cough, McClaren, cough, cough.

Seriously, though, I do agree that they will eventually get results. The odd thing to me is that Toyota is usually pretty succesful in their motorsports endevours. With their track record is other disciplines and the money they are spending it seems to me their biggest problem is the drivers.

I say give them at least 2 more years and maybe they will be where BAR are right now.

I must be out of the loop. I turned my head for a second and missed some brilliance?

This season so far Toyota has stunk badly. Last year towards the end they had some decent Qualifing results (Panis 3rd Indy, Panis + DaMatta 3rd + 4th Japan).

Agree. Toyota need to stop copying and start thinking. They also need to hirer a driver with REAL testing and development experience. I believe that they are targeting RS, but I personally believe Coulthard would be better for them as RS cannot test for ****.

For the first time, the car's paint job is having a negative effect on performance. Something about the late 80's random brush strokes on the sides... It's really awful, and the block Toyota and Panasonic plain graphics aren't helping either.

I think they set up shop in the wrong country[Germany].
look at all the British based teams. It seems as though
they have a large pool of F1 talent in that country.

I feel it will be a while. After another year or perhaps 2 years, funding will get cut slightly, scaring the team into better spending habits.

Slightly before that they will get better development drivers.

After the scare, they will be more wise spending, their fruits will start to pay off and start progressing in the field, at which time funding will increase, and then they will really shine.

    Long time yet IMO.

When they send the senior corporate staff off to the hospitality hut to play with the keyrings while the professionals get on with the learning process. Money isn't a complete shortcut, and blaming the personel for that reality isn't going to get them anywhere. (Ford has been discovering this with the Jag team, too. Money isn't the One Final Answer.)

As Kelly Johnson (of the "Skunk works") used to say: "Pick the right man for the job, and get everyone else out of his way".
