What would be the best "bang for your buck" front brake upgrade for a 88 Testarossa? I heard F40 brakes will fit?? But at what cost? Is Brembo the only way to go for 3k + just for the fronts??

    Thanks..Robert

Best "bang for the buck" is Porterfield R4S pads from Ricambi, and caliper painting (powdercoating if you have time to send them out, otherwise the kit at Parts Rack for DIY). I think there is a thread in the Rocky Mtn section with pics. Another option, if the 88 is same as 91, you can use a wire brush with a power tool and shine the calipers, for a 'like new' factory finish that looks really sharp. Good upgrades without spending thousands on upgrades that don't translate into resale dollars or benefit you for street driving.

I would look for direct rotor replacements from companies such as Stoptech or Giro. This way, you can use the OEM calipers and save a lot of money that way. They do not actually have a kit out for the Testarossas, but I think they can put something together for you within the specifications. I know that Giro actually had a Testarossa kit at one point, but probably due to lack of demand, they discontinued it. However, I think they can easily recall the spec. and make a set as I think Stoptech should be able to do something similar as well. That's what I plan to do when the time comes to change the rotors on mine.

Call them and find out: www.stoptech.com and www.************

I fitted the Brembo cross drilled package and it makes a huge difference to stopping and handling under braking conditions
