In light of Darth's, ahem, "pictures" of his burgers last week, i'm declaring this week International Burger Week (to restore respect back to the burger)... Each day this week, i'll have a burger from some place and post pictures...

Being that i was without internet access yesterday, here's pictures from yesterday's burger...

It's highly recommended and is on my top 10 burger list (which i've been revising and maintaining for over a decade)...
The name of the place i acquired this wonderful specimen from is The Professor's Diner, in Kings Park, NY, right here on Long Island... i went all out and decided to get a chocolate milk shake with my bacon cheese burger... Here it is...

Excellent topic EnzoDesCarbon. Today I tried a different burger place called the Arkansas Burger Company here in Little Rock. My choice was their Swiss mushroom burger with fries. It was excellent and very tasty. The fries were made from fresh potatos but unfortunately for me, by the time that I got to work with my lunch, the fries had gotten a little soggy. But still very tasty. I also received a tip that there is another place here in Little Rock called Mama B's Big Burgers that has recently moved to a better location and is doing big business with a quality home made burger. Another Little Rock staple in the burger business is the Buffalo Grill with their NON assembly line burger and home-stlye fries made from fresh potatos.
And that's today's burger review from Little Rock, Arkansas.

Thanks, Arlie... i'm glad folks are chiming in from different places... Now we need some voices from outside of the states; after all, it IS International Burger Week...

So Arlie, are you keeping with the true spirit of burger week and having a burger from a different place, everyday this week...?

I think that I've already missed the boat for a clean sweep on burger week because Monday and Tuesday were non-burger days. However, I must digress for a moment. It seems to me that the FISH sandwich seldom gets the respect or admiration that it deserves. And here's the connection with burger joints. About 15 years ago, BURGER KING had a winning fish sandwich called the WHALER. It was served on a hoagie bun with whatever else that you wanted ("have it your way"). But then one day, the Whaler was gone! A few years later, Burger King brought back a second rate replacement fish sandwich that was served on a plain jane hamburger bun. I think that it disappeared after awhile. Now the McDonald's Filet o' Fish sandwich is the only readily available fish sandwich. I do like the Filet o' Fish myself because it is simple, and extremely consistant from restaurant to restaurant. But the McDonald's burgers are not even in the burger "game" as far as I'm concerned

And as long as it's International Burger Week, let's not forget one of my classic postings regarding my creation of the Enzoburger!

Where on Long Island do you live? I used to live in Dix Hills before I moved to Manhattan. Always neat to meet others from my former area.

I lived just on the border of Dix Hills and Commack right off Vanderbuilt Parkway in the Imperial Gardens development across from Commack Middle School. Sometimes I miss the island... the joys of being able to go outside and take a swim or lie on the grass and *not* hear a taxi honking.

Um, Lester...? What island are you thinking of...? There's not a spot of grass on this entire island that you can lie on and not here some type of hustle and bustle crap... Of course, you could go out east, but that's waaaaaaaaay too country for me...

I suppose LI has become pretty populated and it's certainly NOT the country ala Central PA; however, the Dix Hills/Commack area does not compare to the hell in which I currently call home. I wake up at 4am due to the sound of Taxi's honking. My old house was situated on 1 acre of land surrounded by trees and was 6x larger than my apartment for 1/2 the cost, lmao. Why anyone would want to live in the city is beyond me.

Then again... I do have access to everything without having to start up the car.

But I digress... isn't eating all that red meat bad for you? I shouldn't talk as last month I was eating 2 bacon cheeseburgers everyday for three weeks. BLAH, school food sucks.
